HIV testing
We offer all clients HIV testing.
If HIV is detected early, treatment can be started which prevents damage to the immune system. With early treatment, long-term effects of HIV including serious infections and other health problems can be prevented.
Blood test
- A blood test is the most common way to test for HIV
- The test provides a reliable result 45 days after exposure to HIV.
If you live within Luton and are aged 16 and over, you can order a home test kit online. Please click here if you would like to order one to your home (please note that HIV can take up to 90 days to show on a finger prick blood test from a home kit)
Pharmacy testing
Some pharmacies in Luton offer HIV testing through Public Heath. See our pharmacy list to find out which ones offer this service.
